REPORTING · 2nd January 2016
Walter McFarlane
There were around 20 people willing to get their feet wet at the icy cold waters of the Douglas Channel at the 3rd Annual Polar Bear Swim on New Year’s Day, January 1st.

A fire was standing by at the Haisla Boat Launch for those willing to take a new year’s plunge (and those standing on the shoreline) to warm up and refreshments were served.

“It was an awesome success,” said Trev Amos, who organized the event.

Amos thanked Sue Christiansen Smith. He also thanked the Kitimat Search and Rescue and RCMP members who also came out.
