First Canada was outside Overwaitea Foods on Saturday, December 10th, for their first annual ‘Stuff the Bus’ full of food. The people who dropped in could make a donation to the Kitimat Food Bank and the Humane Society.
“We wanted to do something to benefit the Kitimat Food Bank and the Kitimat Humane Society and thought since First Canada is a transportation company what better thing to do then to ‘Stuff the Bus’. There are many other organizations who have done this and been quite successful, including our Prince Rupert location for the past few years,” said Penny Spicer who organized the event.
With every donation, people could enter to win a homemade quilt from the Kitimat Quilters Guild.
“We are more than pleased with the results as it exceeded our expectations for the First Annual Stuff the Bus and we are looking forward to doing this again next year! Kitimat is a wonderful community and has donated so graciously to all the different events going on in Kitimat to assist with the needs of the Kitimat Food Bank, Kitimat Humane Society,” said Spicer
She thanked the community of Kitimat for all of the support they showed to the event.
