REPORTING · 1st December 2015
Walter McFarlane
The results of the business walk came in and on Wednesday, November 25th, there was a meeting of business owners at the Kitimat General Hospital to discuss the results of the 2015 Business Walk.

“We are very pleased with the amount of people who showed up and the discussion, people felt comfortable to share all their thoughts and I think that we’ve reached some potential actionable items for the future support of businesses in Kitimat,” said Rose Klukas.

The meeting resulted in the potential formation of a business revitalization committee. Around a dozen people volunteered and there will be another meeting with these volunteers to determine how to move forward. Anyone who missed the meeting and would like to volunteer is invited to come up and speak with the District of Kitimat Economic Development Department.

Klukas explained that revitalization could mean a lot of things, physical revitalization or a revitalization in the marketing program.

“They were all able to throw some ideas out there on the table, some of them they could implement, there were a number of thing we could have a role in,” said Tyler Noble.

In January, the Chamber of Commerce will be offering a Customer Service Training program.

The District of Kitimat Economic Development Department thanked everyone for coming out and their desire to work together.
