MasterBUILT Hotels, a joint venture between Superior Lodging Corp. - one of Canada’s largest and most successful hotel developers - and Jayman MasterBUILT, one of Canada’s premier residential builder developers over the past three decades – announce the opening of Microtel Inn & Suites newest Canadian prototypical hotel in Kitimat, British Columbia.
The opening of the Kitimat hotel marks Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham’s second location in British Columbia and the first hotel to opening is this community in decades. MasterBUILT Hotels is proud to bring this prototypical hotel design to Kitimat, offering guests modern accommodations with best in class amenities. The hotel is conveniently located off Haisla Blvd, close to restaurants and shopping, as well as LNG Canada, Rio Tinto, Chevron, and LNG Shell offices.
“When my partner, Jay Westman and I came to Kitimat a few years ago to get a sense of the community, we really liked what we saw and knew that this new hotel brand in Canada would be very successful here. The town has been very accommodating and a real pleasure to work with in getting this project completed and bringing much needed accommodations to the community,” says Marc Staniloff, Co-Chairman of MasterBUILT Hotels.
“As we developed a new prototype for Microtel in Canada, we drew on our many years of award winning construction and design expertise to think of the entire building and its operating systems. With the knowledge gained by building thousands of homes and condominiums and understanding building science, we carefully selected materials and finishes that would last longer, reduce overall operating costs and result in a lower environmental footprint” says Jay Westman, Co-Chairman MasterBUILT Hotels and Owner of Jayman MasterBUILT. Guests staying at the hotel will enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi Internet, hot continental breakfast and light dinner Monday through Thursday evenings. The fitness centre, Microstore and meeting room facilities are welcome on-site amenities designed to meet the recreational and fitness needs of business and leisure travellers alike.
Additional conveniences include business center, and copy/fax service and parking. The hotel is fully accessible and features the latest in safety and security in guest rooms and public space. The 87 guest rooms and suites feature a compact refrigerator, microwave and in room coffee with select rooms featuring a full kitchen, separate bedroom and living room, ideal for extended stays.
The Microtel in Kitimat is part of an extensive development plan by MasterBUILT Hotels that calls for the opening of 75 Microtel by Wyndham hotels in Canada over the next 25 years. Currently there are 13 Microtel Inns & Suites open in Canada; 12 under the prototypical new design and 1 under the brands’ original older design concept in Parry Sound ON. Other locations currently open include: Timmins, Sault St Marie, Casselman, Kirkland Lake ON, Estevan, Weyburn, Lloydminster, SK, Red Deer, Blackfalds, Whitecourt AB and Fort St John BC.
