Kitimat RCMP
On August 5, 2015 a report of a stolen vehicle was reported to the Kitimat RCMP Detachment in the area of Egret st & Lahakas Blvd. Extensive patrols were made by the Kitimat RCMP Detachment members; however the vehicle was not located. All neighboring RCMP Detachments were advised to “be on the lookout” for the vehicle.

A short time later the Smithers RCMP advised that they had located the vehicle, and 3 Kitimat residents (2 males and 1 female) were arrested in/near the vehicle. The suspects were transported to the Smithers RCMP Detachment and released on various charges. All 3 persons are well known to the Kitimat RCMP. One of the males was breaching his no contact conditions (with the other male) a from a previous Kitimat RCMP file.

The suspects were in possession of bicycles and property that did not belong to them. The Kitimat RCMP is reminding residents not to leave any valuables in their vehicles, and to ensure they are locked and secure when parked. Should you be missing any property, or know the rightful owners of the bicycles, please contact the Kitimat RCMP Detachment.
