REPORTING · 6th July 2015
Walter McFarlane
Supervalu was packed with customers on Friday July 3rd, as if it were Black Friday in July. While staff was unavailable for comment, a sign in the window explained the store would be closing on Friday, July 31st for renovations, and reopening in early December as a No Frills Store.

“We are excited about this change as it will be a great new store to better serve you,” read the sign in the window.

Inside the store, lines for the registers stretched from the tills to the back of the store as Grocery items, excluding meat, dairy, produce and deli, had been discounted.

The sign posted in the window is there because the company wanted it up. Not by the staff members who are losing there jobs so that Loblaws (No Frills) can lower there wages significantly. The employees that are making minimum wage have the choice to stay. The rest have to go. Know the truth. It's disgusting.
