REPORTING · 28th June 2015
Walter McFarlane
The Kitimat Public Library is holding their summer reading program from July 6th to August 20th. Registration began on June 20th. The program is free for ages six to twelve.

“Our theme is ‘build it,’ so lots of cool crafts where we’re going to be building different things,” said Heather Young

“We try to incorporate the theme into the crafts and the books and the different activities we do with the kids,” said Mia Craft.

Each child will receive a reading log. They are encouraged to read as much as they can at home and bring their logs and earn stickers based on how much they have read. If they complete their logs, they get a medal at the end of the summer.

The summer students are also offering free reading tutorials during the summer months. Contact them for further information.
