On Friday, June 19th, Grade Six students at Nechako Elementary School celebrated the successes of their grade six students at a ceremony before proud parents. Around 40 students will be moving up to the middle school from Nechako next year.

They paraded through the gym, while the class valedictorians, Emily McConnell and Iris Striker, read their favourite moments in school what they will be looking forward to in the middle school and their dreams for the future. The ceremony included a slide show of photos taken over the past year.

Awards were also handed out to several students to commemorate their accomplishments in Nechako.

“I wish them all the best, all the success in the world at MEMSS School and beyond into high school as well,” said Principal David Mills.
Among the students who were recognised for their achievements were Lakayla Franklin, who won the Brenda Good Award, and Ann Desrosier who won the Principal’s Award
