REPORTING · 4th June 2015

With the strike on, there have been a number of cancelled activities in Kitimat. One popular spring venue which was cancelled was the Spring Craft and Business Sale. However, three friends, one crafter and two small business owners, decided to hold their own craft fair at the Legion on Saturday, May 30th.

“We have venders from all over, from Prince George to Terrace to here. There are some businesses that are home businesses and crafters such as sowers and crochet-ers,” said Dayna Baker. “We are trying to make it annual. We are not sure of the date because there are other craft fairs.”

She told us they want to keep up with the annual craft fair, although they do not know how they are going to do it.

They had a larger turn out then they thought, around 300 people were in and out of the Legion that day.

“We hope that it gets bigger and better every year, we hope that other venders will look and see that we’ve done so well, they want to attend and we’re so thankful that people did show up and all the venders did a good job here today,” said Baker.

She wished to thank all the crafters and small businesses that came out and all the people who showed up.
