District of Kitimat
May 11 to May 17, 2015

Every resident is encouraged to clean up their home, yard and business. This is so an excellent time to check for and remove any fire hazards and to return recyclable materials to the appropriate recycling depot. Locally the following recycling depots can be contacted for hours of operation and materials handled at their locations.

The Kitimat Municipal Landfill Site is also available for disposal of white goods, tires, and automotive batteries for recycling as well as household and yard waste.

The Landfill Site is open to the public during the
following summer hours:
Monday - 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday - Closed
Wednesday to Friday - 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday - 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.


There will also be expanded Residential Refuse Pick up the following week for all residential customers from May 19 to May 22, 2015.

During this week maximum limits on the number of cans and bags will be waived. Pick up will be on your normal pickup day. Refuse must be placed at curb side and packaged or bundled in the normal way. Overweight and/or oversize items will not be collected.

Take a look around your yard and if there is anything that is just rusting away or collecting dust, take it to the dump or recycle what you can. If you haven't used something for a year maybe you should just get rid of it. Premises with junk devalue your property and everyone who has property nearby.
