Kitimat RCMP
On April 12th 2014 at 6:00 am, a Bayer St residence in Kitimat was set on fire deliberately. A family sleeping inside managed to escape thanks to a passerby who alerted the family to the fire. In the days and months following the Kitimat RCMP entered into a lengthy investigation. In March 2015, charges of arson with respect to disregarding life and property (section 433(a) and 434 criminal code) were approved against Nicholas FERGUSON age 24 years and Thomas FINNIE age 22 years. FERGUSON faces an additional charge of possession of an incendiary material, gasoline for the purpose of committing arson (section 436.1 of the criminal code). Both males have been arrested are currently incustody.
