ENHANCED SHUTTLE SERVICE BETWEEN SMELTER SITE AND MOUNTAIN VIEW SQUARE PARKING LOT FOR TUESDAY 10 FEBRUARY & WEDNESDAY 11 FEBRUARY.
As progress continues to be made to return the Kitimat smelter to normal operating conditions, Rio Tinto Alcan will continue to reduce traffic on the road to the plant, at the smelter and in the parking areas.
Rio Tinto Alcan will provide an enhanced shuttle service for its BC Operations employees between the Mountain View Square parking lot and the smelter site’s ‘A’ Gate on Tuesday 10 February and Wednesday 11 February.
This service will be for essential service employees. Some Rio Tinto Alcan departments that are not part of the essential service team will be contacted by their managers for alternative work arrangements. Operations employees are encouraged to take the appropriate shuttle to ensure you are able to be at your pre-start meetings. Contact your supervisor if you are unsure as to your individual expectations.
The following is the pick-up schedule for the route running between the Mountain View Square parking lot and the smelter site’s ‘A’ Gate parking lot. This schedule will support both day shift and night shift schedules.
Departures from Mountain View Square
Departures from smelter ‘A’ Gate
If it is impossible to meet the shuttle schedule, BC Operations employees are asked to car pool as a last option.
