NEWS RELEASE · 7th February 2015
District of Kitimat
Dear fellow citizens,
The events of the past few days are of such significance that nobody could have been prepared to solve them in a matter of hours. It may take a few days before life is back to normal.
Rest assured that District of Kitimat employees, local contractors, BC Hydro crews and emergency services are all working as hard as they can to address the situation.
In times like these, it is important that as a community we work together. Please check on your neighbours, friends and family. Kitimatians have always been known for their generosity, compassion and cooperation. I know this is another moment in our history where we will prove that.
Kitimat is our home. We will prevail.

Dear Mr Mayor
I would seem that our district workers are on strike as this is the only reasonable explanation for the snow removal crews not getting around to doing their jobs for the last fifty-four hours and not a snow plow in site it nice to know that the people of Kitimat are such low priority when contract time is up. I have been a union member for many years and I am disappointed that their contract come before the people of Kitimat
