REPORTING · 5th January 2015
Walter McFarlane
The Regular Meeting of Kitimat City Council for Monday, January 5th is tonight. While there are only eight items on the agenda, including the approval of the minutes for December 15th, the meeting could certainly be prolonged.

The meeting kicks off with a Public Hearing for the Riverbrook Estates Zoning Bylaw. This public hearing has been going on for a number of months now. Council is being advised by staff to consider the public comment, and if objections require further consideration, Council could postpone it again. However, they could also give the Bylaw 3rd reading.

There are no presentations scheduled. After approving the minutes, Council has three bylaws before them. The first is three readings for the Leisure Services Fees and Changes and the second is adoption Revenue Anticipation Borrowing Bylaw, both are bylaws which the Council looks at yearly. The third is of course the Riverbrook Estates Zoning Bylaw.

Under Reports and Communications, there is a Development Permit Application for Riverbrook Estates. Kitimat Minor Hockey is requesting a grant of $6250 to help them put on a hockey tournament over Spring Break. Finally, there is a request for a tax write off for an abandoned trailer which is not worth the money to sell.
