The Kitimat Supper Club provided a special Christmas dinner at the 1st Baptist Church on Monday, December 22nd. The place was packed full of people who wanted a good meal.
The meal was turkey, carrots, ham, Brussel sprouts, sausage stuffing, potatoes, gravy, peas, cranberry sauce and a mandarin pasta salad. Four Turkeys and one Ham were prepared for the meal.
ďA lot of people here do not get to celebrate Christmas very often and I heard a lot of people here donít celebrate thanksgiving so Iím really glad that we can sit down and have this meal together,Ē said Sherry Dawn-Brady.
All the food for the feast was brought by the Kinsmen Club of Kitimat and served by both the Kinsmen, and Mayor Phil Germuth who had the night off of Council.
This feast was sponsored by Viking Construction, Kal Tire, The Chilly and Dancer Pub and Inline Coast Cold Beer and Wine Store.
It was determined that this was the biggest service so far. At the beginning, the line up went out the door. Within an hour, 117 people had been served dinner.
In addition to bringing dinner, the Kinsmen also brought around 144 presents for people of all ages.
The Kitimat Supper Club will not be serving dinner next week, they will be taking some time off. However, they will return on the 5th of January for Schnitzel at 5:00 Pm
