On Monday, December 1st, the Council Chambers were packed with supporters of the new Council. Once everyone was sworn in, it was time for Mayor Phil Germuth to deliver the Mayoral Address.
“As your Mayor, it is an honour to have this opportunity to say a few words. To my fellow Councillors, today we start our four year journey of working together, serving our community to the best of our ability and well-being of our citizens,” said Germuth.
He expressed to the administration that Mayor and Council always will appreciate their dedication, hard work and professionalism. To the city workers, he stated the citizens appreciate their constant dedication and hard work.
“You are our strongest link between our city and its administration for the services that we provide to our citizens,” said Germuth.
He thanked the citizens for their trust. “Our six elected Councillors and I know and appreciate that your vote of confidence in use demonstrates your strong expectations that we preform our duties with confidence and common sense for the betterment and progress for our entire city,” said Germuth.
He said there was lots of work to do. “Let’s continue building trust and lasting relationships with the Haisla, all levels of government, industry and out neighbouring communities. Thank you,” concluded Germuth.
