There is a Household Furniture Swap, a community wide event, coming up on November 8th. Last month, it was brought before City Council.
“We will be collecting usable items and assisting families who, perhaps, need to downsize furniture, who don’t have access to furniture. It is a great way to recycle household items that can be utilized by everyone,” said Trish Parson’s at a City Council Meeting last month.
Items which are left over will be stored at ‘What’s In Store.’ They are looking for volunteers to pick up donations and volunteers to deliver them to those who are in need.
On October 25th and November 1st, the furniture swap will be taking donation at the old SPCA Building in Service Centre between 9 am and noon. On November 8th, from 10 am to 4 pm, those who wish to have the donated items can come and take what they need.
“We will have some help to deliver furniture that is wanted. If anyone needs assistance to donate lightly used furniture, they can call 250-632-6294 for assistance,” said Warcup.
