Kitimat Council meets tonight, Monday, October 20th for their Regular Meeting of Council at 7:30 Pm in their Chambers at Northwest Community College. This is not one to miss, particularly if you have an interest in community history.
The meeting begins with the Monthly Policing Report from Staff Sergeant Phil Harrison. Martin Gould and Brent Robinson will be presenting on the Kitamaat Basketball Tournament. Linda Allen from Cityspaces Consulting is going to present on the Housing Action Plan. Finally, Daniel Martin will be presenting on the 1952 Townsite Plan.
After approving minutes, Councillor Mario Feldhoff is making a motion to have the District of Kitimat meet with the Premier of Alberta to discuss the benefits of the Kitimat Clean Refinery.
Under bylaws, watch the string of Councillor’s leave the room in conflict of interest on the Permissive Tax Exemption Bylaw.
Under Reports and Communications, there is a report on the Kitimat Child Development Centre request for a grant for International Children’s Day, there is a report on the housing action plan and cardboard pick up for seniors and the disabled.
Following that, there is a report on the renewal of the ambulance storage area lease at the Firehall, a temporary building permit for RTA and the Council Remuneration for 2015.
