Kitimat City Council meets tonight, Monday October 6th for their Regular Meeting of Council. The meeting starts with two public hearing, one of them being Riverbrook Estates. The other one relates to building an affordable housing fund through contributions from temporary worker housing.
This will be followed by 6 presentations. Staff Sargent Phil Harrison has his Monthly Policing Report, Evan Saugstad from Spectra Energy will be presenting a sustainability report, Sherry Brady will be presenting on the Community Supper Club, Kitimat LNG will be doing a project update, there will be a presentation on the Alexander Townhouses by phone and finally, Bill Kearley will be reporting on Marina.
After approving minutes, Councillor Mary Murphy has a motion to provide website access to Council Meetings. It is followed by a motion by Councillor Phil Germuth to invite representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Skeena Wild to present to Council about the Kitimat Air Shed Study.
For Bylaws, there is the third reading of the Riverbrook Estates Zoning Amendment and three readings to the Tax Exemption Bylaw.
Finally, under reports and communications, there a report about the m1 manufacturing zone bylaw which appeared in the public hearing, a report on Riverbrook Estates and the Statement of Accounts for September.
