A weather alert, rainfall warning, has been issued for Kitimat and Stewart.

From the Environment Canada Alert, Found by clicking this paragraph:

“A moisture-laden Pacific frontal system over the North Coast will bring significant rainfall to Stewart and Kitimat. Total rainfall by Friday evening will be 70-80 mm at Kitimat and 50 mm at Stewart. Terrace will not reach rainfall warning criteria as 30 mm is expected for the City. Rain will taper off to showers Friday evening as the system moves eastward.”

They are reminding people that heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water to pool on roads. They are advising people to watch for possible washouts near rivers and creeks.
