Kitimat City Council on Monday, September 15th began with Mayor Joanne Monaghan’s good news.
Monaghan was happy to speak at the Northern Development Institute contribution to the Airport Society for $250,000. She attended the Kitimat Health Advisory Meeting.
Steve Chin did a photo-shoot with Monaghan about the Microtel. There are also plans for a new church in Kitimat and the CAO and Monaghan met with them.
The housing study was presented to Council and it revealed some interesting facts.
Monaghan attended and gave a report at the interagency committee. Monaghan and the CAO met with Royal Dutch Shell with an update on their project. Council had a conference call with RTA about their 60th.
She invited everyone to attend Peace Day on the 21st of September.
“The big event was RTA’s 60th. I had an opportunity to speak and it was a wonderful opportunity to meet many of the people who were at the building of the Alcan 60 years ago,” said Monaghan.
They had 40 people for the Terry Fox Run on Sunday and Monaghan was pleased to send the people and a few dogs on their way, running and walking.
Finally, at noon earlier that day, Council met with the Canadian Association of petroleum Products.
