REPORTING · 29th August 2014
Mountainview Square is getting several new projects. One of these projects is a proposed one story commercial/office space building. It will have seven spaces for offices and three spaces for retail. A report to Council for their August 25th meeting states the retail or offices have yet to be named.
Councillor Rob Goffinet made a motion to refer it to the Downtown Design Panel, issue notice to neighbours and seek public comment. He also wished to refer it to the Advisory Planning Commission.
The proposed building will be located in the lot adjacent to the veterinarian’s office, with entrances for the retail space facing Wakashan Ave. and the office space facing the Mountainview Square parking lot.
The building will be L shaped and parking will be in the Mountainview Square. Councillor Mario Feldhoff asked if the plans for rebuilding Wakashan included on street parking. He was told by staff the plans for Wakashan were being drafted, and would probably include street parking and a sidewalk. They have done a survey but they are still determining what form of parking will go along Wakashan.
The motion was called and carried.
