REPORTING · 22nd August 2014
The Kitimat Chamber of Commerce is putting on a Show and Shine for Motorcycles, this Saturday, August the 23rd. Harley Davidson and Eye Candy Custom Cycles, both from Smithers, will be coming down with some of their bikes.
“It started off with a couple of individuals, Shaun Barbosa and Ian Pereira started organizing it as a fundraiser for the Kitimat Humane Society. Then they started talking to some individual businesses and groups to support the event,” said Trish Parsons, Chamber Manager.
The Show and Shine starts at 10:00 am in the Chamber Park lot although its duration has not been set. Parking will be along Forest Avenue and at Pacific Northern Gas. Entrance is free to the public.
The bikes which enter the Show and Shine will make a donation to the Humane Society. There will be food venders and music. It will also be possible for people to bring donations of money and/or pet supplies to the Chamber.
“It’s a really good partnership where different groups have gotten together and supporting the new event. We’re starting off small and working our way up,” said Parsons.
