Due to BC Day, Kitimat City Council meets for their regular meeting of Council on Tuesday, August 5th. The meeting begins with a public hearing for the Strawberry Meadow Zone Amendment Bylaw.

There are two presentations. One comes from Jennifer Brousseau and Kaylie Pirrotta with an update from the Kitimat Emergency Program. The second is from Leonard Kerkhoff concerning Riverbrook Estates.

After approving the minutes, there is the 2nd reading of the Riverbrook Estates zoning amendment bylaw.

Under reports there is the Downtown Revitalization Area Development Permit Application for the Ol’ Keg sign, there is a Multi-Family Development Permit Applications for 20-30 Clifford Street and a report on a Road Name Bylaw.

One of the returning topics to Council is a report on the liability of accepting the proposed park lands on Kingfisher. It is followed by two reports concerning the upcoming International Day of Peace from the Rotary Club of Kitimat on September 21st.
