Kitimat Detachment responded to 99 calls for service during this period. Some of which are as follows:
On Monday June 30th 2014 at 5:30 pm, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a dirt bike collision on Dyke Rd. Upon attendance a 12 year old male was being treated for a compound fracture to his left leg. Two youths had collided while riding dirt bikes. The Kitimat RCMP are continuing to investigate.
On Tuesday July 1st 2014 at 1:20 pm, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a ATV collision on the Saunders FSR. Police learned that a 28 year old male lost control of his ATV on the loose gravel causing the ATV to go off road and roll over. The driver and passenger were treated for injuries by Kitimat Fire and Rescue. The Kitimat RCMP are continuing to investigate.
On Wednesday July 2nd 2014 at 2:00 am, an officer with the Kitimat RCMP pulled a vehicle over for speeding in the area of Haisla Blvd. and Eurocan Way. The driver displayed gross symptoms of impairment. The driver blew two fails into an approved screening device roadside. The driver a 43 year old male from Coldstream, B.C. received a 90 day driving prohibition and a 30 day vehicle impound.
On Thursday July 3rd 2014 at 2:20 pm, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a report of a stolen Kawasaki dirt bike. The dirt bike had been stolen from a residence on Columbia Ave. On July 6th 2014 police were advised that the dirt bike had been recovered. Police are continuing to investigate.
On Saturday July 5th 2014 at 12:48 am, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a complaint of assault. Upon attendance the Kitimat RCMP arrested a male on an outstanding conditional sentence warrant. The male was also in breach of the conditional sentence order. The male a 52 year old resident of Kitimat will appear before a Judge for a review of the conditional sentence order.
On Saturday July 5th 2014 at 7:10 am, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter to a residence under construction on Blackberry St. Entry was gained through a rear window. Suspect(s) stole construction tools from inside the residence. The suspect(s) also attempted to break into two trailers parked outside but were unsuccessful. This file remains under investigation.
On Saturday July 5th 2014 at 11:45 pm, the Kitimat RCMP observed a 15 year old male walking on Kuldo Blvd. The male was on a curfew. The male was arrested and transported to Kitimat RCMP cells. The youths father subsequently attended the detachment and transported his son home.
On Sunday July 6th 2014 at 4:30 am, the Kitimat RCMP stopped a vehicle on Haisla Blvd. The vehicle took approximately two blocks to pull over. The driver displayed symptoms of impairment and had been warned not to drive earlier by the officer at the Kitimat Hotel. The driver refused to provide a sample of her breath into an approved screening device roadside. The driver a 19 year old female from Kitimat received a 90 day driving prohibition and a 30 day vehicle impound.
On Sunday July 6th 2014 at 2:20 pm, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a complaint of male who was threatened with a weapon. Upon attendance the complainant advised police that he was just threatened with a chopping maul. Police subsequently arrested the suspect on Dyke Rd. A 50 year old male resident of Kitimat appeared before a Judicial Justice of the Peace and was released on strict conditions pending his first appearance on August 7th in provincial court.
