Kitimat City Council meets tonight, Monday, July 7th, for their regular meeting of Council. It begins at 7:30 Pm at the Council Chambers in the Northwest Community College.

The meeting begins with a public hearing relating to a bylaw amendment for the M1 Manufacturing Zone to revise the density bonus table.

There are 5 bylaws coming before Council. The first relates to improvements to ticketing people who break bylaws. The second is three readings for a refuse control bylaw relating to the residential cardboard ban at the landfill. Following that is the final adoption of the Leisure services fees and charges amendment bylaw.

The next bylaw relates to a zoning amendment bylaw increasing the number of townhouses proposed on Kingfisher from 40-54. While council voted this down at a previous meeting, they can waive the 6 month waiting period if four Councillors vote in favour of it.

The final Zoning Amendment Bylaw is for amending zoning for six lots in Strawberry Meadows

Under reports are two travel grant request from the Kitimat Marlin Swim Club, a report based on the public hearing and a development variance permit for Dadook Avenue. There is a request for milled asphalt from the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club, the Road Reconstruction Program for 2014 and the Statement of Accounts for June.
