REPORTING · 1st July 2014
Walter McFarlane
The summer kick off of the Riverlodge Summer Programs was on Friday, June 27th. Programs start on July 2nd, following Canada Day and run for 7 weeks. Each program has a different theme.

“Today, we have our kickoff which is the free event to kind of promote the programs for the summer, get the kids to meet the leaders and see how fun it could be here at Riverlodge. We are also giving out brochures to show off all our programs,” said Jocelyn Marleau.

The theme of the kick off was holidays. Each station was a different holiday.

The Summer Leaders have put in a lot of effort into making summer memorable. They have worked on new programs. All the crafts will be new, there are new games and all of the programs have been rebuilt from scratch.

The returning programs include ‘Everything You Wanted to do but Your Mom Wouldn’t Let You,’ ‘Whistling Wilderness’ and ‘Backpacks, Bushes and Berries.’ There are programs for preschoolers including ‘Little Caterers’ and ‘Bubbly Ballerinas.’

New programs include ‘Aqua Marina’ which focuses on Mermaids, fish and the oceans and ‘Little Carpenters’ where kids will be making crafts.
