The Dave Saunders Memorial Hill Climb for 2014 is fast approaching. It will take place on Saturday June 28th on Haisla Hill, starting at 10 am, with a rain out day of Sunday, June 29th. A Dance has been scheduled for the 28th at 7:30 pm.

On Monday, June 2nd, Harley Bell was at Council to ask for permission to use the hill and facilities for the climb. Council approved a grant of $1900 for the climb. Councillor Mario Feldhoff stated the Hill Climb is a premier event, bringing in economic activity to Kitimat. Councillor Phil Germuth agreed that it brought a lot of people to Kitimat and was a fun event to attend.

Councillor Mary Murphy agreed, but they needed to make some adjustments to their policies and guidelines.
