Monday, June 16th
Kitimat City Council meets for their Regular Meeting of Council at 7:30. Items on the agenda include MaPP, the summer students, Shames Mountain Bussing and Kitimat’s Alcahol Policy.
Tuesday, June 17th
Whales of Douglas Channel: Researcher Janie Wray from Cetacea Lab, located in Whale Channel will speak about her, and partner Hermann Meuter's journey with whales as these gentle giants return once again to the coastal waters of northern BC. Listen as the Kitimat Fjords come to life with the famous HUMPBACK whale song! Be amazed by the pure size of the second largest creature on the planet - the FIN whales and their return to Caamano Sound. Location: Tamitik Meeting Room from 7:00 - 9:00 (copied from calendar)
Friday, June 20th:
'Distant Worlds' - Paintings by Joseline Light - Opening Reception. Joseline Light is a Peruvian artist born in Puno-Lima, Peru in 1979. She discovered a passion for arts at a very young age. In her senior year of high school she entered a national competition for arts were she was awarded a gold medal for her work. Working primarily in acrylics Josy creates vivid, fantastical landscapes and creatures that perhaps inhabit her vision of ‘Distant Worlds’. Josy lives in Kitimat with her husband Colin and young son.
