Festivals Kitimat
Preparations are well under way for Festivals Kitimat activities!

Saturday, June 14th is the 6th Annual Kitimat Valley Walk/Run Festival! The 21K run starts at 8:00am, the 10K walk starts at 8:30am and all other distances start at 9:00am, with all participants beginning at Riverlodge Recreation Centre.

Rod & Gun Family Fishing Day on Sunday, June 15th from 10am-2pm.

Saturday June 28th is the 6th Annual Memorial Hill Climb at Haisla Hill starting at 10am! Rainout day is Sunday June 29th.

Festivals Kitimat and the Kinsmen Club of Kitimat are taking applications for this year’s parade. We hope that many will join in and have decorated floats for this year’s theme, “Christmas in July”! Parade application forms are available for download at www.festivalskitimat.com or pickup at the Festivals Kitimat Office located in the meeting room at Riverlodge Recreation Centre.

We are also looking for stage show performers! Festivals Kitimat would love to have a variety of entertainers perform on our stage! Stage show applications can be downloaded from www.festivalskitimat.com or picked up at the Festivals Kitimat Office.

Join us on July 1st for the following events;

Kitimat Kinsmen Club parade beginning at 12:00pm starting from Mountainview Square and ending at Riverlodge.

The International Food and Craft Fair at Riverlodge selling food and crafts.

Our annual stage show beginning at 1pm with awards and performances

Canadian Helicopter’s Helicopter Rides

Soccer games

Kid Zone hosted by Child Development Center

Haunted house by the Kitimat Youth Center

Kitimat West Coast Park Dog show

Cake from the Girl Guides of Canada

The spectacular fireworks display put on by the Kitimat Fire Department will end the evening at Riverlodge at 11pm.

Don’t forget about the other events happening around Kitimat! There is free bus service from 10am-6pm, so head on over to Tamitik for the 11th annual Show & Shine from 1-4pm and the free public swim at Sam Lindsay Aquatic Centre from 6-9pm!
