The Kildala Before and After School Care program received a cheque for $20,000 from the Royal Bank RBC Foundation on Tuesday, May 27th.

Janet Hoover told us the Before and After School Care Program is open to the students Monday to Friday, from 7 until 6. They are open on Non Instructional Days and on School Breaks. There are about 44 children in the program and they are split up between 2 classrooms.

Each year, the students do a recycling project. A few years ago, they made a dragon. Last year, they made an owl. This year, they are making a well. The students also do other projects which incorporate recycling around the year.

Most importantly, the program incorporates an anti-bullying message, Be A Friend or BAF.

Shirley Breuker, Branch Manager of the Royal Bank expressed the Out of School Care program was one of 33 applicants for this funding and only two of them were selected this year.
