REPORTING · 30th April 2014
Walter McFarlane
The 2nd Annual Chili Cook Off took place at the Snowflakes Seniors Centre on Tuesday, April 29th. People came out to sample chili, vote for their favourites, donate money to the Relay for Life and enjoy a bowl of their favourite chili.

There were four entrants this year. The District of Kitimat was the returning champions. The other three teams were Firefighter Dave, the Senior’s Centre Executive and the Kitimat RCMP.

The ‘judging’ public had mixed feelings about which was the best between the four and there were a number of popular dishes. There was great care taken to hide who made which chili. When the meal was over, the results were announced.

In last place were the District of Kitimat and the Seniors Centre with 8 votes a piece. Fire Fighter Dave received 10 votes, and the new champions were the Kitimat RCMP with 22 votes. The Winners received aprons.

Approximately $165 was raised for the Relay For Life and everyone had a good time.
