Kitimat RCMP
On April 22, 2014 at approximately 13:12 hrs, Kitimat RCMP responded to a complaint of a Theft/Robbery at Cook’s Jewelry at the City Centre Mall in Kitimat, BC. A male smashed a display cabinet with an implement and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of jewelry. The suspect male was described as in his 20s with a dark complexion and wearing a black windbreaker/track suit type of jacket and a bright red hat. The suspect ran across the parking lot and Haisla Blvd and into the wooded area where police cordoned off the area. Police Dog Service from Terrace was called in to assist. A track was found but later lost at the Lahakas Blvd. indicating that the suspect left in a vehicle at that point.

Shortly after 15:00 hrs it was learned that Carters Jewellers on Lakelse Ave. in Terrace had a similar incident occur. It is unknown at this point if the same person was responsible for both incidents. Police are continuing their investigations and request the public’s assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible.
