REPORTING · 10th April 2014
The Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club is requesting funding from Council on Monday, April 7. Mary Ellen Proctor, the Steering Committee Chair of the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club came to Council to request $3,850 to hire an Innovative Golf Management Consultant from IGM Consulting Services.
In a letter to Council, she explained the consultant would evaluate the current operations and create realistic recommendations to ensure success. The goal is to enhance revenues and reduce operating expenses.
“As you know, the Golf Course has gone through some trials and tribulations. Our community as a whole until these proposed industries come into the community. We’re looking at hiring a consultant to come in who is an expert in this area and show us the right path to go,” said Proctor in Council.
Proctor told Council the fee from this proposal was minimal compared to others she has dealt with. Councillor Mario Feldhoff stated he was looking forward to the results for the community at large.
Mayor Joanne Monaghan reminded the gallery that the golf season was fast approaching.
Councillor Mary Murphy made a motion to grant the money to the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club. The motion was called and carried.

More money being spent...doesn't anyone know how to cut corners and run a tight ship ? Make the member pay for their sport...whatever it takes to keep the ship afloat.
Finally they are heading in the right direction
