The Snow Valley Skating Club held their Year-End Skating Gala on Saturday, April 6th before a packed crowd at the Tamitik Arena.

“It’s out Year-End Ice Gala that we have every year. This year, we are skating through the calendar. Each number is doing a different month and we are going through all the months and going through all the events that happen through all the months,” said Jessica Goncalves.

Approximately 86 skaters skated in the gala and there was a special guest skater, Julianne Delaurier, a national competitor from Kelowna who was up to skate with the club.

“It’s been a very successful year for us so it’s very exciting to showcase all of our skaters at the Year-End gala. This year, we skated in many different competitions which we normally don’t skate in. We went to super series in Kelowna, we went to regionals in Williams Lake and of course we had Kla How Ya here in Kitimat,” said Goncalves. “We had great numbers and great scores this year.”
