Kitimat City Council Meets tonight, Monday February 17th at 7:30 pm in the Council Chambers at the North West Community College. There are a lot of presentations and number of reports so it may not be a short meeting.
The meeting starts with a public hearing on the Crossroads Residential Dormitory.
There are five presentations. The first comes from Donny van Dyk and Ray Philpenko from Enbridge on the topic of Leak Detection. Following them comes Staff Sergeant Phil Harrison with his Monthly Policing Report.
Trish Parsons is the next presenter with a presentation on the Kitimat Extreme Weather Shelter. Then comes Brent Robinson with a presentation on the upcoming Kitamaat Basketball Tournament. The final presentation comes from Don Read from the Kitimat Ministerial Association on the topic of the Development Permit on Viewpoint Apartments.
After approving the minutes of the meeting, Council moves into Reports and Communications. There is a request for sponsorship from the 2014 Kitamaat Open Basketball Tournament. Then comes a pair of Travel Grant Requests.
Three of the reports are requests for development permits. Ones is for the Viewpoint Apartments on Albatross street. The second is for 100 Stikine Street. The final is for PTI. The final report is the statement of Accounts for January 2014.
The meeting will conclude with the Mayor and Council Reports.
