Haisla Nation Council Contributes funds to the Kitimat General Hospital
Members of the Kitimat General Hospital Foundation (KGHF) were on hand to receive a cheque in the amount of $2,000 from the Haisla Nation Council on January 22nd and Health Centre, to be spent on a Laryngoscope/Camera for the Emergency Room at Kitimat General Hospital.
The KGHF acted as intermediary to ensure the funds are spent as they are intended. Donations made directly to the Kitimat General Hospital go into general revenues, whereas using the KGHF as an intermediary ensures the donation is spent where the donor wishes.
Chairperson, Corinne Scott stated: “The Kitimat General Hospital Foundation is pleased to be of service, ensuring the funds donated by the Haisla Nation Council are directed towards the equipment they intended in order to improve health service in the Emergency Room at the Hospital.”
On behalf of the Haisla Nation, Medical Centre staff on hand to pass the donation to the Hospital Foundation were Jason Majore, COO; Eric Bottah, Health Manager; Angie Campbell, Patient Travel Clerk; Patricia Bravo, Patient Care Aide; and Anita Grant, Personal Care Aide.
Hospital Foundation members were Corinne Scott, Chair; Doug Thomson, Vice Chair; and Director Rob Goffinet.
