Kitimat Community Foundation
The Kitimat General Hospital Foundation (KGHF) has launched a campaign to raise $50,000 to purchase a portable ultrasound machine and will be looking for support from the community to achieve this goal.
Foundation Chairperson, Corinne Scott stated, “The Kitimat General Hospital Foundation was established to ensure ongoing excellent health care for our community. The purchase of a portable ultrasound machine meets those objectives, and we are very pleased to assist the doctor’s and ensure patients receive immediate diagnosis.”
At the October meeting of the KGHF Board of Directors, Dr. Carstens made a presentation requesting the Foundation’s consideration to purchase a portable ultrasound machine to be used in the emergency room and the acute care unit. He advised that it would be very beneficial to have the ability to do ultrasounds in an emergency or after hours when the diagnostic imaging department is closed.
Foundation members and directors will be at the Centre City Mall on Friday, November 22nd from 4 pm until 10 pm and on Saturday, November 23rd from 9:30 am until 6 pm. Those making a donation of $25 or more will receive a limited edition, commemorative Christmas ornament.
The Foundation’s second annual Christmas Coffee House will be held at the Kitimat General Hospital on December 4th from 10:30 am until 4 pm. with music through out the day. Refreshments will be served courtesy of the Kitimat General Hospital. Foundation members will be available to receive donations and, once again, those donating $25 or more will receive a limited edition Christmas decoration.
