The Rotary Club of Kitimat is having their Annual Auction today, Saturday, November 23 in the Mountainview Square. The Auction is open for viewing at 9:30 Am. The main Auction begins at noon and runs until five.

“We have a wide variety of things, lots of gift certificates for different restaurants in the Kitimat and Terrace area, some really lovely artwork in terms of a painting donated by Gemmas and a Water Colour donated by Tom Campbell, There’s a variety of other accessories,” said Lyle McNish, the Auction Chair.

They have about over 250 items for bid. These include a trip for two for Hawkair, a signed Ryan Keslar Picture with a Vancouver Canucks Jersey, some toys for children and much more.

“As always, we’re heavily endebted to the support of the local community, the local business community and we do get some stuff from far away, such as the Delta Airport Inn, Esthers Inn so we do get some gift certificates from far as well,” said McNish.

The funds go into the Kitimat Rotary Club Project Account and the money goes into things like the Peace Community Day, Peace School, Scholarship and other projects. They recently supplied the Philippians with some support and Shelter Boxes following the recent disaster there.

The Phil-Can representatives came to Rotary and presented to them. They invested to send Shelter Boxes to the Philippians which of course get matching funds.
