Kitimat Marlin Swim Club
The kitimat marlins swim club had 13 swimmers attend the Prince George moose swim meet over the weekend. With teams from terrace, kitimat, Smithers,prince Rupert, Prince George , chetwyn, quenell, Williams lake, salmon arm, and fort St. John's in attendance the competition was fierce. The marlins held there own though with all 13 swimmers posting some excellent results and most swimmers posting many personal best times on the way.
Leading the way for performance was Brander Pacheco and Kleanza Cathers
Pacheco (15) took the silver medal for overall points in the 14-15 boys division while Cathers (14) competing in the 14-15 girls division took the bronze medal for overall points.
Achieving the tough task of swimming personal best times in all 8 of their individual races were Vanessa Lamarre, Hayden dobbin, and Laurence Boucher
Boucher for the second swim meet in a row had the largest one swim improvement for the marlins, a 17 second improvement in the 200 meter freestyle.
The marlins next swim meet will be dec 13-15, where they will host the kitimat regional winter invitational swim meet
