REPORTING · 28th September 2013
Representatives of Northern Health Authority were at the Snowflake Seniors Centre on Tuesday, September 24th to do a community consultation concerning Senior’s Health and Wellbeing.
“This is one of our consultations. We do these consultations every couple of years, on various topics and this one’s on Seniors Housing and Healthy Aging,” said Steve Raper, Director of Communications for Northern Health.
He explained Seniors are a growing demographic and there are challenges around healthy aging and senior’s wellness. Northern Health wants to know what is working, what is not working and how do they keep seniors healthy and how to keep them in their homes longer.
“Everybody has a role to play in this, not just in terms of us as individuals but agencies, communities, the health authority. We all have a role to play, we’re trying to get the broadest arrange of information and feedback and ideas so that when we take this to the board, the board can be informed and it will help them make decisions going forward,” said Raper.
Did want to provide input and miss this great event. You can contact Northern Health at consultations,,,northernhealth.ca. They are encouraging anyone and anybody who has anything to say about this topic to contact them.
Tilly Bachman, president of the Senior’s Centre wanted to thank Northern Health for the donation they made for using the Centre for their meeting.
