The following events and holidays are coming up this week.

Monday, September 23rd

A special meeting of Council will be held at the college at 7:30. They have some catching up to do after missing their last regular meeting. It starts with a public hearing regarding the parking of recreational vehicles on residential lots.

Tuesday, September 24th

The Kitimat Senior’s Society is hosting a BBQ lunch at noon for $6 per person. Following the lunch is a Northern Health Community Consultation Meeting. Call the Senior’s Centre at 250 632 3405 to let them know you are coming.

The BC Oil and Gas Commission will be hosing a community information session where experts will be available to answer questions about LNG. They will be in Kitimat from 4-8 at Riverlodge.

Thursday, September 26th

At 1:00 Pm, there is a Presentation on the impact which falls have on the well being of Seniors and Health Car Services put on by C.O.S.C.O. Falls Prevention. " The presentation will recommend safeguards and demonstrate exercises that will improve balance and strength! Join us for this informative session."

Saturday, September 28th

The Kitimat Health Advocacy Group meets at 10:15 in the public library meeting room.

Sunday, September 29th

Kitimat Public Market takes place at the Mountainview Square Green Space and Parking lot from 10:00 Am – 3:00 Pm. Find Food Venders, Craft Venders and produce venders.

Michael Forward will be reading from his first published novel: ‘Alex Quinn and the Gemstones of Dunkel.’ Patrick Witwicki from AFFNO will also be reading a children’s story in French. The event starts at one.

KUTE is hosting the annual Kitimat River Cleanup on Sunday, September 29th. At 1 PM, come to the Kitimat Rod & Gun Club to register and pick an area to clean. Clean your area from 1 to 3 PM. Return, with your garbage, to the Rod & Gun Club at 3 PM for food and refreshments. Wear appropriate clothing, and bring a friend. Small children must be supervised.
