The Kitimat Pulbic Library held the end of its summer program on Wednesday, August 14th. Mayor Joanne Monaghan was on hand to presented medals to the children who completed their reading logs.

“Today we had our final party for the summer reading club. We had about 22 kids come together and that was there send off for the summer. They read, did crafts, get together with their friends, they all had a good time,” said Library Director Virginia Charron.

To earn the medals, the children had to complete filling in an entire reading log during the program. Children read whatever they felt like. The theme was Up… UP and Away.

The next big event at the Library is local Author Mike Forward who will be at the library on Sunday September 29th at 1:00 to read from his first published novel: Alex Quinn and the Gemstones of Dunkel. He will be preceded by Patrick who will reading to children in French on behalf of AFFNO.
