REPORTING · 30th July 2013
On Friday July 26th and Saturday, July 27th, Kitimat was treated to a movie night as a part of the 10th anniversary. The evening began with a slideshow of great photos from Kitimat’s history which were credited to Rio Tinto Alcan.
The films were put on by Fresh Air Cinema, who was traveling the Northwest putting on movies in the great outdoors.
Friday Night’s showing of Hotel Transylvania was put on in the Tamitik Arena due to the weather. Parents brought in their children and sat on lawn chairs, blankets and in the seats around the arena to watch the CG movie.
We were told Saturday’s movie at the soccer fields at Riverlodge were even more packed for Here Comes the Boom. People we talked to hoped Kitimat will do something like this again in the future.
