REPORTING · 23rd July 2013
According to Mayor Joanne Monaghan, the deadline for the Book Drive for the Bella Bella Public Library has been extended to July 26th.
“Allot of people were out of town and places like that so we said, we will extend it,” said Monaghan. “It will give us time to pack everything up, get it all organized and then, Bandstra will come and they will get it to the ferry.”
Other libraries have started getting on board with the book drive. They have been contacting Virginia Charon to get on board. Charon told us they are looking for gently used books.
Monaghan told us the Chief Councillor Marilyn Slett, of Bella Bella is delighted with the donation of books. She told a Rotary Club in the lower mainland is looking into donating a trailer to house the library until a new library is built.
“There are volunteers coming from all over and I think it’s just terrific because it looks and feels like everybody in the Province is working together and I think that’s great,” said Monaghan.
