REPORTING · 26th July 2013
For those of you out there in Kitimat who enjoy movies, there is a movie night coming up at Riverlodge on July 26th and 27th. There will be concessions. People are advised to bring their chairs and blankets because these movies will be shown outside.
“We have two movies, the first is Hotel Transylvania and the second night, we have here comes the boom,” said Deputy CAO Warren Waycheshen. “Hotel Transylvania is a cartoon about a hotel where monsters live and it’s along the lines of cartoons today, stuff for the kids, adults and older kids can watch them. Here comes the boom is for the adults and teenagers.”
The movies are scheduled to start at 10:00 although people can show up earlier. If the movies rain out, they will be shown in Tamitik.
Could the movie night in the park become a reoccurring event? “We’re going to give this a try, see how the community reacts to it, it’s something different and try something different. Maybe something we do again in the future but we really have to see where it goes,” said Waycheshen.

C'mon man...you want your tax dollars invested in a business that has consistently failed in Kitimat? Actually, I don't want my city to be involved in any business but maintaining and promoting the city.

as a guy whose born and raised in lived in kitimat most of my life i am sad to see that kitmat lost their beloved movie theater.
the city should buy it back and get it up to date of sounds and screen play movies again.
