REPORTING · 3rd July 2013
Walter McFarlane
The theme for the 2013 Canada Day Parade put on by the Kinsmen Club of Kitimat was 'Pioneer Days: 1953.' Residents of Kitimat gathered along the route to watch the parade of local businesses, contractors and service clubs march by.

Notable in this year’s parade was Eileen Hutson, who was recognised for the many years which she spent teaching art to youth in Kitimat, Heavy equipment brought in by Kitimat’s contractors and the Rotary Club of Kitimat with their peace doves.

The Winners were picked based on how they presented the theme. First Place went to the Riverlodge Summer Programs. Second Place went to the Child Development Centre and Third Place went to Overwaitea Foods.
