Kitimat City Council Meets tonight, still in their Council Chambers in the Public Safety Building for their Regular Meeting of Council for Tuesday, May 21st at 7:30 PM.
There are 6 presentations scheduled. The first is from Patrick Witwicki from AFFNO requesting financial or in kind support for the 2014 Winter Festival. Following him is Staff Sergeant Phil Harrison with the Monthly Policing Report. Then comes Terry Lam with a request for relocating the water intake or more testing.
Liz MacDonald from the Kitimat Food Share has a presentation on a Community Garden. Trish Parsons from the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce presents her annual report. Finally, Stuart Ramsey wishes to discuss Development of Highway 37.
After approving minutes comes three bylaws. The first two consider changing the dimensions and location of several handicapped parking stalls so they can better suit the community. The third is to send out letters of consultation to those who live in the areas around where the PTI Camp is located.
There are two bylaws. PTI Residential Dormitory OCP and Zoning Amendment Bylaw #1 comes before Council as well as the 2nd and 3rd reading of the OCP GHG Target Bylaw #1.
Reports include the statement of accounts for April, a request for funding reallocation from the Kitimat Fire Department, a grant request from the Kitimat Music Scholarship Society and an application for a temporary tent structure from Rio Tinto Alcan.
There are three communications. This includes the request from AFFNO, a request for a letter of support in applying for a grant and a request from Denise Lodge to request to bring a motor cycle safety initiative to the UBCM.
