Two Kitimat Boxers went down to Quesnel Easter weekend to compete in a Boxing tournament with mixed results, but both had fun.

“It was tough because I wasn’t in the best shape I could be, but I did pretty good,” said Aiden Abreu, “Considering being out of shape, I did pretty good, I got fight of the night.”

Abreu fought Lucas Gelinas. He said it was his first armature fight and was a good experience for him. He had a good trip and would do it again.

Aaron Lee came out of his fight with a black eye and a sore jaw, however, he told us that we should have seen the other guy. “Pretty nerve wracking first round, second round got into it more,” said Lee. “I gave him a pretty bad bleeding nose and split his lip.”

Unfortunately, Lee’s opponent, Lucas Gelinas, scored more points and took home the win. He told us he had a lot of fun and would do it again.

Fight fans in Kitimat know should be able to rest assured that there is a fight coming up on the 20th of this month provided they get enough boxers from out of town.
