NEWS RELEASE · 20th March 2013
Kitimat RCMP
The Kitimat RCMP arrested a 31 yr old man shortly after he allegedly assaulted the owner/manager of the Kitimat Hotel last weekend.

On March 17th, 2013 at around 05:30 the Kitimat RCMP and BC Ambulance Services, responded to a report of a female laying unconscious outside the Kitimat Hotel.

Witnesses at the scene assisted investigators by providing the direction of travel of a male suspect, who was seen fleeing north from the hotel towards a wooded area. RCMP officers were able to quickly track the man down due to his footprints left in the snow. Daniel Charles RINQUINHA formerly of Kitimat, who now resides in Alberta remains in custody and is facing a charge of aggravated assault.

The 50 yr old female victim was transported to hospital from treatment of severe head trauma and broken facial bones. RCMP Terrace Ident along with an investigator from Terrace assisted in the ongoing investigation.

The Kitimat RCMP would like to speak to anyone with information or to witnesses who have not yet spoken to investigators.
